Foster City | Waterfront & Modern Homes

The Foster City community was built in the 1960s. The recreational community was home to a number of soccer and baseball fields, some public tennis courts and nineteen parks. The massive development is particularly popular with families, cyclists and runners. Many stylish condos and family homes surround the Foster City Lagoon. The San Francisco bay attracts wind-surfers from all over the world and the 9-hole golf course appeals to the golfing fraternity.

Foster City was named after T. J. Foster, a property magnate who owned and developed much of the region. The area formerly known as Brewer's Island was once home to the Leslie Salt Company and a number of dairy farms.

In 2008, the Money Magazine named the city as one of the best places to live.
